About me

My name is Tereza Konopásková, I am an interior designer and construction specialist – which means that I not only design beautiful spaces, but I also make sure that the roof doesn’t fall on your head.

I graduated from the Secondary School of Construction in Pardubice, where I learned a solid technical foundation, and then dove into the world of aesthetics at the School of Design, where I earned my certification in interior design. To make sure I wasn’t satisfied with just what looks nice, but also what works really well, I took courses in lighting and ergonomics – because a beautiful apartment is nice, but if you bump your pinky finger on the corner of the bed every time you’re in it, the joy quickly fades.

I’ve been designing since 2018, and because it wasn’t enough to just draw designs, I decided to find out how things work in practice. I’ve worked in a joinery shop to experience furniture making first-hand, and I’ve travelled around construction sites with assemblers to see the whole process in real life – from the first plan to the last bolt tightened. So I know what can be built, what is difficult to disguise, and what is better not to even try.

In 2022, I packed my bags (and packed a tape measure) and headed to the UK, where I worked in construction and interior design for two years. This experience not only gave me valuable know-how, but also a new perspective on the functionality and aesthetics of interiors.

My approach to design is deeper than just “make it pretty”. I study the psychology of the client, their needs and lifestyle, because I believe that a home should not only be visually appealing, but above all perfectly suited to the person who lives there. In other words – I won’t stuff you with a marble kitchen if you prefer to eat in restaurants, and I won’t design a minimalist apartment if you have a collection of twenty porcelain elephants from your grandmother.

I design both residential and commercial spaces, always with an emphasis on functionality, aesthetics and personality. Each project is a unique combination of technical expertise, creativity and a desire to create an environment where you feel truly comfortable.

If you’re looking for someone to help you transform a space into a place that makes sense (without losing your mind or your budget), I’m happy to take it on.
